B is for BLUEBERRY & BESKOW - A to Z, Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013

B is for BLUEBERRY Forest and Elsa BESKOW, A to Z in April', Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013

My theme for A to Z is my favourite things that might show up in written stories, poems, paintings or jewellery. This is my list of subjects that I would like to work with.

(Elsa Beskow, 1874 -1953) Elsa Beskow's picture books are a part of my childhood that has stayed with me. I love this scene where Putte finds himself in a blueberry forest.

Best wishes,
Anna

Sharing your inspirations, lovely!

Not to mention they are packed with antioxidants, good for health too.
I bought tinned ones, once or twice, to use in recipes, but being imported items here, they are pretty costly for a household on a budget.
I will visit when I can...not doing the A-Z this year

Blueberry muffins. That's about all I know about blueberries, but I do remember stories from my childhood. By the way, you, I'm sure, would look great without the mustache :)
Blessings from South Africa, Geoff.

Yolanda - Welcome to my blueberry forest!

Rek - Thanks for taking the time to stop by! I wish I could send you fresh blueberries! They are good for you in many ways! Good for tummy aches and for the eyes too.

Michael - Thanks for looking in! I know you are busy with your own theme, which you do so well!

Sally - Yes, this is the way they grow wild in the forest. And they are good to eat!

Roland - There is actually a song about a boy who befriends a bear while picking blueberries in the woods! His mother shoos the bear away. It's based on a true story!

Geoff - The boy in the heading photo is not me, but my son Erik! I drew the mustasche on his face with an eyebrow pencil! It was a birthday party and he dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow! He won a prize for his costume!

Rebecca - Thank you for your kind words!

Best wishes,
Anna
