This is week 74 and the prompt is 'The number you have reached is no longer in service'. Here are Mrs. Matlock's instructions: WORD COUNT - 100 WORDS PLUS THE TEN WORDS OF THE PROMPT. Total word count not to exceed 110 words.
STYLE OF WRITING - ANY
USE A PICTURE THIS WEEK IF YOU LIKE
THE PROMPT THIS WEEK IS: "The number you have reached is no longer in service"
Here is my text:

A buyer's nightmare
------

'Please sign here.' said the driver from the DITY-Store, handing Catarina an invoice and a pen. Then he carried the heavier boxes to the lift, leaving the lighter ones for Catarina. Soon Catarina's hall was filled. Several days of stepping over boxes passed before she opened them and discovered that several essential parts were missing. I'll just call Customer Service, she thought to herself; the number was on the invoice.

A recorded voice said: The number you have reached is no longer in service'. At the bottom of the paper with her signature were the words: 'Buyer agrees to terms of sale by signing this invoice. All sales final'.

------
Wordcount according to WordCalc: 100
------
Best wishes,
Anna

OMGosh Anna, this is so true to life and a brilliant take on the prompt...Bravo !

It is hard enough to get a real person to talk to on the phone these days and then poor Catarina has paid and is left holding an incomplete product with no recourse...so frustrating!

And thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. I'm very happy if anything I have to say, on my blog or in comments on yours, is helpful.
