Saturday 11th April 2015 - The Letter J. I'm back to being nice and starting with the English word.

J is for Jewellery, which is Smycken in Swedish

I don't normally post that much about the jewellery-making process on this blog. Which is silly. I really should.

One way of working is to start out by looking at materials, whatever you have: glass beads, stones, metal findings, charms, connectors and wire. It doesn't look like jewellery yet. You try to combine components together and see what works.

I often begin with the small parts and decide which shapes and colours match or compliment each other.

It's a lot like choosing and mixing colours from a paint-box. Some jewellery-designers actually draw and paint their designs first. I could do that too. The next time I make a post about jewellery designs, I'll show sketches too.

And what can I do with these?

Thanks for visiting,

Best wishes,
Anna
