Romantic Friday Writers July Challenge - Honeymoon - July 19 - 22, 2013

Welcome to  Romantic Friday Writers Challenge for July - Honeymoon.
Here's my text:

Postcard from the Lucky Couple:

We were wed in June, my love and I,
And sailed away upon the tide,
To a far off island with sand and loons,
And not that much to do.

No matter. We're sitting side by side.
Drinking sweet tea and singing happy tunes,
We don't feel like coming home that soon.
It's our honeymoon.

LOL; short and to the point :)

I wouldn't feel like coming home either if I sat beside my new spouse and had the sea to myself. Sailing away sounds like a perfect honeymoon!

Thanks for participating with RFW this month Anna.

I enjoyed reading this Anna. Nice and relaxed as a honeymoon should be.

Thank you for being such a loyal member of RFW over the years.

Dear Sally,
Thank you for your kind comment!

I had no time to develop my longer story, although I now can see possibilities: The postcard could be an introduction and the story could continue from the point of view of those receiving the card and/or the honeymooners who sent it. Are they really having that much fun. My first idea was to write a humourous account of how everything can go wrong. They end up sleeping in a camping tent in the wilderness, and it rains!

Dear Donna,

Thank you for reading my short-short post. I have had so much to do taking care of the children, five adult cats and six kittens that I wrote this between clean-up chores.

As I have written to Sally, I could have written more. This is really a good theme.

Dear Yolanda,
Thanks for visiting. Yes, I would love to take a honeymoon trip like that. But I don't even have a boyfriend! But the weather is very nice right now. Unusually warm for Sweden and breezy. (But if you have lived in Alaska, you know what a northern summer is like.)

Dear Denise,
Thank you for your kind words. I try to participate, but sometimes it is hard to fit in. But I did get a tiny ditty in!

Best wishes to all!
Anna

Hello again RFWers!
Take a look at the Etsy treasuries that I have put above this post. In keeping with the theme of honeymoons, I have collected items that make us think about travel destinations for a honeymoon - Sweden, Paris, Rome and the seashore somewhere.
Best wishes,
Anna

Ah, short and sweet, Anna. Thanks for dropping by to read my entry and thanks for finding the time to give us your take on honeymoon. Too bad life gets so busy sometimes.
