Cissi and Cassy - 'We know where...' - Mrs. Jenny Matlock's Saturday Centus - Week 91

Jenny Matlock

Welcome to Mrs. Jenny Matlock's Saturday Centus week 91, from one week ago. SC is a writing challenge in which participants are asked to write a text with a given prompt, using only 100 or less words, not including the prompt, which this week is 'We know where all the bodies are buried'. To read Jenny's instructions scroll down past my text. But first, here is my text:

------

Cissi and Cassy were taken to the country for a weekend romp. They have climbed a tree.

'Cissi, you know you'll never catch one of those,' laughed Cassy licking a paw.' You need wings to catch birds!'

'Oh Cassy, let me at least try.' moaned Cissi, swatting her paw at a sparrow that just barely escaped her.

'You know why we're here.'

'Yeah. We're supposed to catch mice in the barn not birds in the garden.'

'Yes, and we know where all the bodies are buried.'

'Oh Cassy! You didn't buried them for later?'

'Why not? Squirrels do it.'

'Yuck!'

Welcome to week ninety-one of Saturday Centus.

Hi! Are we all good? I know you think I'm going to be evil and keep making you do other writing devices around the cliff hanging prompt...

But I'm not.

Because I'm really, really being nice this week.

And because Miss Nonna at Tasty Tales sent me some prompts to use...

...which means my brain can officially take the day off.

Again.

So...

THE PROMPT THIS WEEK (THANK YOU NONNA!) IS: We know where all the bodies are buried
WORD COUNT - 100 words total PLUS the eight words of the prompt...108 words total
STYLE OF WRITING - Any
ADDITIONAL PICTURES IF DESIRED

The regular restrictions apply: PG, no splitting of the prompt, play nicely and visit the other entries, any style or genre of writing you prefer.

Please display my link button or just a hyper-link back to Saturday Centus. Be careful to link your SC URL to the Linky and not just link to your main blog.

E-mail me directly with ???'s or ask your question in a comment and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Feel free to link up anytime between now and next Saturday!

Hi Anna,
Hahahahaha ! Very creative, upbeat take on the prompt !
I love it when animals talk in stories and do the unexpected but then with kitties, you never know what they are going to do next. That's what makes them such a daily challenge and so sweet and loveable !!!

Hi Anna,

With your obvious liking for cats as seen on your blog, I think Cissi and Cassy are great choices for characters. :)

Cissi has the right idea, mice are better fresh. :) Nice idea for using the prompt.

Anna. I loved this! Loved that you wrote this from the perspective of the cats!

What a clever girl you are!

And I have to agree, though.

Yuck, is right!

It was wonderful reading this today. Your imagination is definitely live and well.

Hugs from Arizona.
