A not so Wordless Wednesday

A happy cut-throat!

I almost regret signing up for, "NaBloPoMo", this "vow", this "oath, that I have taken to write a post every day for the next thirty days.

'I need this like a hole in my head', I thought to myself this morning, as I bicycled to our son's school to go to a meeting at the principal's office. Erik does not recognise all the letters of the alphabet. But he can talk about a wide range of subjects that the other seven-year-olds don't have a clue about. If his ability to read and write does not improve soon, they will start testing him for dyslexia. Is Erik really dyslectic? Or is he just lazy and lacks good study-habits?

This is one of several problems that won't go away.

'Why did I promise to write every day for thirty days?' I thought to myself, ' No one will read it!'

But then, I noticed that someone had left comments, and dicovered these three fairy godmothers of writing: Jakill, Surfie and Lin:

Good luck with that.

I have a schedule for my two blogs that I try to keep to. So I post in blogger on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and I post in Writelink on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Some of the posts are very short, gobbledygook or just a picture. But they get done every weekday unless I'm on holiday or having a crisis of some kind.

I don't know if I'd be able to think of that many topics! But there's always Wordless Wednesday and Saturday's PhotoHunt! :)

I did it last year and was soooo glad that I did! It was a great challenge to get you to think about writing everyday. I listed it as one of my two major things that have really improved me as a blogger. Don't worry about having a fabulous post every day--that may not happen. But it is a good exercise for the writer in you. I post almost daily now because of that challenge and it isn't as hard anymore. I take Sundays off to be with my family, but I still sneak it in every now and then.

Good luck! I'll be reading. :)

Thank you so much for caring, you sweet bloggers! This is all I need: scheduling, self-discipline and putting aside my pride for the next 26 days.

"Just get it down on paper!" as my dear father would have said. Yes, just get it down on the keyboard and SAVE it! I would say now.

I discovered only fairly recently that you can schedule posts on Blogger. Good for PhotoHunters and Wordless Wednesdays. The problem with me is I am too picky and like it to look neat, so I go back and forth correcting spelling and moving things around. And after so many years living with and writing in a different language, I make embarrassing spelling mistakes when I write in English. You would think that I am dyslectic.

I have competion close to home too. My own cat, Sara, has her own blog; and I think her readership is actually higher than mine. She complains that she has a hard time keeping up with Daisy the Curly Cat. She doesn't like dressing up in human clothes as Daisy is so clever at. Sara runs and hides under the bed instead. She claims that her talents lie in areas other than fashion. She plans to start reviewing books or perhaps the cinema.

Well, at least Sara seems to have know what to to write about on her blog. I don't really know what I am going to do the next 26 days.

Thank you for reading this far!

Anna

Okay, I'm with you so far!! Just take one day at a time and you'll be done with this month in no time! :) Thanks for the link.

Sometimes I have trouble thinking of something to write about, too! I usually have a few posts in draft form already done, just in case.

Tell Sara that I, too, run and hide under the bed whenever I hear a loud noise or the doorbell!

i think you are going to do just fine with this. it doesn't matter what you write about, does it? there are many many things out there for you to explore. i'll be looking forward to reading what you have to say.

hugz!

Dear Lin,
Thanks for reading! That I am still trying, is thanks to your comment about allowing oneself the luxury of not demanding that every post has to be a winner. It's better to write something rather than nothing. Writing inspires more writing!

Dear Daisy,
You know you are the one that inspired me to keep blogging. You are so good at it and yet so down to earth.
Having several drafts ready is exactly the way I want to work. But lately I have had more computer problems and even other bad things happening to me so that my time at the computer has not been that productive or long.

I told Sara what you said about you running and hiding under the bed when you hear a loud noise and she not only purred, but even smiled a very broad cat-smile.

Dear PJ
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment. You are so sweet. I have been thinking about your sister, but I'll write about this in an e-mail.

Hugs and nose-taps to all of you wonderful bloggers!

Anna
