Welcome to week thirty-eight of Saturday Centus.
Scroll down beyond my SC-text to read Mrs. Matlock's instructions for this week.
Here is my text: (The prompt is in light yellow)
------
'Blue-Planet here. Come in.'
'What do you see?
'A large construction with ropes hanging down from a frame. A large number of them surrounding this object.'
'What is this?'
'I'm afraid the invisibility unit wasn't working. Some of them saw us...'
A black clad man: 'We are gathered here...'
One of women: 'I'm not mad! '
'...in Salem Village...'
'I'm not a witch!'
'...to witness...'
'As God is my witness...'
'...1692...'
'...look under that oak!'
Half of them turn their heads.
'Look, she's right! Look over there!'
The other half chanting: 'Witch, witch!'
'Uh-oh. They've seen us! Beam me up, Scottie. Time to leave.'
------
Wordcount: 100
Best wishes,
Anna
P.S.
Sci-Fi means almost anything, even time-travel. Or aliens that could have visited planet earth long before NASA came into existence. My apologises to Sarah Good and all of those who were executed for witchcraft in the Dominion of Massachusetts 1692. Go to Wikipedia to read more about the Salem witch trials here.

Mrs.Matlock's instructions:
Saturday Centus - Be afraid, be very afraid....
I think we all need to continue to shake things up a little bit for the New Year so this week we'll continue doing that. I'll tell you more in a moment, but go ahead and curse me now! This week, we're going to go further with a shake up and do a genre specific SC from the prompt.
This week you can have the whole 100 words (plus the prompt) BUT try writing sci-fi.
GULP!
BTW, I hate sci-fi, so I'm not picking this because it's easy for me.
I got this prompt from a galaxy far, far away...so you can't technically be annoyed at me.
The prompt is:
"Beam me up, Scottie..."
You have the entire week to link your work to the meme and you can link more than one story if you like. Please try mightily to visit all the other weeks. There are some great writers participating in this meme AND it will be a zippy quick read this week for sure!
Please display link button or just a hyper-link back to Saturday Centus. Be careful to link your SC URL to the Linky and not just link to your main blog.
Please e-mail me directly with ???'s or ask your question in a comment and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Link anytime between now and next Saturday morning.

you did well with this.
I have a friend who reads constantly and her favorite is sci-fi. I've never been a big fan of it myself.
Oh I enjoy your style. Nicely done! Thanks!
I really like the way you used the prompt this week. I've always found the hysteria surrounding the witch trials fascinating. Who knows? This is as good an explanation as any! Kat
What a great blend of history and science fiction! Good work!
This is very clever and thought provoking. Nicely done.

I also did time travel - it is what I think of when I think Sci-fi for some reason. Love your take on it!
So interesting and mysterious...I like it ;-) Peace and blessings
It certainly would have come in useful at many historical events I think!
Ah yes, if only that would work. I would beam up.
I loved it. Unusual way you went with this prompt. Good job.
Good job. Interesting take on this one!
=)
creative blending of history and Sci fi...who knows Harry potter's world may really exist...loved this...
This was just excellent. Historical Sci-Fi! Ingenious...
Anna, oh my!
This is actually my favorite SC this week. I love the direction, I love the mix of history and futuristic.
This is one of your favorite SC's for me ... ever.
Really brilliant girl.
Well, well done!
