A New Year's Review - Mrs. Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday - New Year's Special

This is this year's Christmas tree!

I missed posting my special Christmas post for Alphabe-Thursday and I know that you should finish writing your post before posting. But I don't know how much time I have left before the link is closed. So I will post what I have and go around commenting when I am finished.
I wanted so much to write about Christmas. But it is sometimes hard to live the moment and write about it at the same time.
The Christmas and New Year's holiday season starts with the Saint Lucia on December 13th. I have posted about Lucia-celebrations earlier. This year, I did not have the wherewithall to take pictures of my daughter dressed as Lucia in her kindergarten-show for the parents. I'm sorry about this, but I do miss some things. It is the darkest time of the year and I am usually unwell around this time. It was beastly cold (-15 degrees Ceslius, I think, sorry the unit converter doesn't work right now [No, it's working now! Yippee" 5 degrees Fahrenheit!]).

Erik's birthday was December 18th. He is now nine years old! I do have some shots of Erik blowing out his one candle:

Bye for now!
I'm back to show some more! For the children, this year's Christmas presents were Toy Story figures. Here is Erik with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Slinky, Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead and a piggy bank instead of Dr. Pork Chops:

Bye for now!
I'll be back again!

I think there have been several Birthdays at your house!

Happy Birthday to you all!

Anna, I sense the sadness in your post. Don't look to the past for your memories right now. Look to now, for the ones you can make and continue to provide for your children.

I suspect these are dark times for you...literally and figuratively.

Take light wherever you can find it...and now that someday you will be standing in the sunshine again.

Thank you for linking.

Sending you warm wishes for a 2011 filled with hope and small joys!
